At Netflix, I contributed to the design of applications for web, iOS, video game consoles, and consumer electronics. My most prominent project involved designing the user experience for the Sony PlayStation 3 and over 200 Netflix-ready devices during the transition from DVD rentals to online streaming. This project was instrumental in establishing the long-term interaction patterns still used across Netflix UIs today, including LRUD and gesture-based interfaces. Additionally, I conducted nationwide user research and explored alternative input methods, contributing to the development of enduring user experiences. Throughout this project, I also adapted the UI to various devices such as handheld consoles, e-readers, and others.
This project is featured in the book Designing with Data by Rochelle King, Elizabeth F. Churchill & Caitlin Tan.
